Last week, our Technology Services Department hosted an after-school session for teachers to explore Kami, a tool that enhances classroom engagement. It provided a great opportunity for staff to collaborate, share insights and discuss successful teaching strategies. We appreciate our teachers' dedication to continually improving their support for students' academic growth.

The Wisconsin Association of School Boards has designated October 6 through 12 as Wisconsin School Board Week. Fondy Schools would like to share our appreciation for each member of our Board and the great work they do for our district. All of the board members dedicate many hours to changing outcomes for our students, teachers and community. We appreciate your partnership and commitment to making our Fond du Lac School District a world-class organization.

The Cardinals Marching Band is bringing music and excitement to all nine elementary schools today. Our talented high school musicians are touring each school, giving our young scholars a chance to enjoy fantastic music and the beautiful fall weather. It’s a perfect way to celebrate the season and showcase the talent in our district.

Last week, our Technology Services Department hosted a Seesaw Show and Tell for elementary teachers, providing an opportunity for after-school collaboration. Teachers shared how their students use Seesaw in the classroom, showcasing engagement with both students and families. We appreciate our teachers' dedication in making the most of our Seesaw partnership.

Homecoming Week 2024 has been filled with excitement across our learning community. The participation has been great, with many theme days all across our buildings. Join us for the parade at 5p around the high school campus where all festivities are centralized. You are encouraged to bring a chair if you would like to sit and to arrive before 4:30p. Please park in the high school lot and grab any ample space around the outer loop of the campus that serves as the parade route. The southwest area is reserved for food trucks. If you are arriving after 4:30p, enter through the main/southwest entrance. The Luco Road and two eastern entrances on the Lakeshore side of campus will be closed at 4:30p (including campus drive at Prairie Road) until after the parade. Enjoy the celebrations leading up to the homecoming game, with on-field festivities starting at 6:30p. Food trucks will be available before, during and after the parade. Go Cardinals!

The Architecture, Construction and Engineering (ACE) Academy introduces students to construction, architecture and engineering through technical skills, relevant coursework and hands-on learning. Join us for the ACE Academy 2024-25 Open House on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, from 5-7p, and discover what FDL ACE Academy offers.

Our district is fortunate to partner with Bridging Brighter Smiles to offer an excellent in-school program for families. Visit their new website at bridgingbrightersmiles.org to enroll and schedule your student’s teeth cleaning at school.

Attention 3rd-8th graders: Love basketball? Join Fondy Youth Basketball. This club, separate from school teams, runs from October to March, with league play and tournaments. Register by September 30, 2024. Tryouts start this Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024.

We are planning a high school trip to Ireland for Summer 2026! Students will explore Dublin, Galway, Killarney, Blarney, Cork, Kilkenny and Kildare through an educational experience with EF Tours. Join us for an info session on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, from 5:30-6:15p at the Fondy High Library Media Center. We will cover trip details, academic credit opportunities and enrollment steps. This week is National Arts in Education Week, a nationwide celebration highlighting the transformative impact of the arts in education. Established by Congress in 2010, the week emphasizes the importance of arts programs. It encourages elected officials and educational leaders to ensure that all students, regardless of background, have equal access to the arts. The Fond du Lac School District is proud of its strong arts education programs during the school day and through additional co-curricular offerings. Let's celebrate all the great things happening in Fondy Fine Arts, with amazing students as participants and dedicated teachers and staff as wonderful stewards.

Dear Families, On Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 at 9:50a Evans School was placed into a hold then secure due a 911 call from a concerned community member. The scene has been cleared and there is no threat to school safety. The scene was cleared at 10:21a. We are thankful for the response and support of the local law enforcement to ensure the safety of our school. We will follow up with more information shortly. Nick Shultis Evans Principal
