Joining school-sponsored clubs and activities offers students vital benefits for overall growth. These activities allow students to pursue interests and talents outside their regular studies, providing avenues for creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and leadership. They also build social ties and a sense of community. By promoting these clubs, schools support students' intellectual, social and emotional development. Elementary students can sign up for Safety Patrol in 4th & 5th grade.
The Fine Arts department enhances student lives with music, theater and art education from elementary through high school. Programs cater to participants, performers and audiences alike. Elementary students partake in music, band, orchestra and choir. Evans Elementary also has a bucket drumming club called "Evans Explosion"! Middle school students delve into theater with plays and musicals. High schoolers have access to a premier Performing Arts Center and can pursue advanced courses, including AP and dual-enrollment college classes. Their ensembles perform at a college level, often working with external partners and premiering works from acclaimed composers. Moreover, high school students enjoy national and international travel opportunities. Our theater program offers musicals and plays, honing both performance and technical skills. We view every student as an artist, deserving of creative outlets. Our art education spans kindergarten through 12th grade, offering exhibitions, quality materials and diverse courses from traditional to digital art. This prepares students for advanced education and careers, supplemented by art trips and museum visits.
The Fond du Lac School District fosters an inclusive learning environment to support a diverse learning community. Various events, such as cultural events and affinity groups, ensure every student feels valued and finds unique personal and educational growth opportunities. Cultural events enrich students' understanding of global diversity, while affinity groups offer vital support networks, promoting a sense of belonging and community. Such efforts underscore the district's commitment to educational equity, providing each and every student with the resources they need to thrive. Furthermore, we lead in mental health support with our Fondy Cares (school-based mental health) program, enhancing the emotional well-being of our employees and families through LeapCare. We also offer community services, such as the Bridging Brighter Smiles program.
The Fond du Lac School District offers unique educational pathways for post-graduation success, highlighted by three academies at Fond du Lac High School: ACE, Healthcare and REM. These academies aim to equip students for architecture, construction, engineering, healthcare and manufacturing careers through practical experience and partnerships with colleges and local businesses. Additionally, the district's youth apprenticeships in fields like healthcare and technology, supported by community and academic collaborations, provide real-world skills and opportunities for students to earn and learn. Through these programs, students gain the chance to earn post-secondary credits, secure apprenticeships and obtain advanced certificates, ensuring they are well-prepared for future careers and further education.
